Paul D. Gill, CPP
Payroll Manager, CVR Energy, Inc.

Paul Gill, CPP is currently the Payroll Manager at CVR Energy, Inc. As the Payroll Manager, Paul oversees a payroll department of two full-time staff but have managed up to seven employees in recent years to include centralized semi-monthly payroll, weekly and bi-weekly pay schedules paying up to 80 separate FEIN’s at one time for up to 7,000 US employees in almost every state in the US during his career.

Over the years, Paul has worked in several Manager and Director Roles in the healthcare staffing industry, the engineering and construction industry, oil and gas industry with offshore drilling companies and Stewart Title before joining CVR Energy, Inc. in January of 2016.

Michele Honomichl

Previously, Michele was a founder of GPSLink, and chief architect of the virtual relocation management model – a revolutionary web-based technology to help manage expatriate administration. Michele also worked at Ford Motor Company, where she started her career as an international internal auditor, supported the creation of a world-class expatriate administration center, and launched a global expatriate management system. Michele holds a BS in Finance from Michigan State University and an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Michele has presented at APA, SHRM, The Conference Board, and many other Entrepreneurial and Relocation venues on a variety of Global Payroll, HR, Expatriate, Business and Technology topics. Michele is also the author of Chapter 13, International Payroll in the Payroll Answer Book by Wolters Kluwer, 2007 through 2018 Editions and of the Compliance Corner for Purely Global Magazine 2015 and 2016. She is a member of the American Payroll Association (APA), the Society for Human Resources (SHRM), The Chicago Network, and the International Women’s Forum (IWF). Michele also supports globally minded charitable organizations including Opportunity International, Charity Water, and Upwardly Global.



Emma Jackson, CPP
Sr. Payroll Services Manager, North East Independent School District

As the daughter of a civil servant and an educator, Emma Jackson, CPP is the Senior Payroll Manager at North East Independent School District in San Antonio. She leads a staff of 15 in paying the District’s approximately 10,000 teachers, administrators, substitute, and auxiliary, administrative and instructional support employees.

A long-time member of the Alamo chapter APA, she has served in several officer positions where she is currently the Government Liaison. She also served on the Texas Payroll Conference board from 2009-2013. As a member of the American Payroll Association, she has been a Certified Payroll Professional for over 20 years.

Emma often says “there isn’t a mic she doesn’t love” as she shares her passion for Payroll and education. She has spoken for several years at Texas Payroll Conference and to the Alamo and Dallas chapters. With a love for being active, she also teaches aerobic and strength classes in her “spare” time.



Stephen Kenney
Staff Employment Tax Services, Ernst & Young National Tax Department

Stephen is a Staff with EY’s National Employment Tax Department in Dallas, Texas. He focuses exclusively in the area of federal, state, and local employment tax.

Stephen’s experience includes providing employment tax advisory services to clients in various industries, including technology, construction, medical services, and entertainment. As an attorney, he is well versed in employment tax legal research.

Stephen recently assisted a client outside of Austin in auditing the taxability of their federal, multi-state and local earning and deduction codes.

He has executed the required compliance and regulatory filings for state jurisdictions where clients have payroll, including expertise in the following tax forms:

  • State Unemployment Tax (“SUTA”).
  • State Income Tax Withholding (“SITW”).
  • Local Income Tax Withholding (“LITW”).

Stephen received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Duquesne University and received a JD from the Pennsylvania State University School of Law. Stephen is a licensed attorney and a member of the Pennsylvania and Texas Bar Associations.
